China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), established in 1957, is held biannually in Guangzhou every spring and autumn. As China’s longest-running, largest, and most comprehensive international trade event, it is hailed as the “barometer of China’s foreign trade” and the “No. 1 Exhibition in China.”
- Organizers: Co-hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial Government and organized by the China Foreign Trade Centre.
- Venue: Pazhou Island, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, with a total construction area of 1.1 million square meters and an indoor exhibition area of 338,000 square meters (expanded ot 620,000 square meters post-upgrade).
- Core Functions: Primarily focuses on export trade, while integrating import services, technology collaboration, cultural exchange, and supporting services like inspection, logistics, and consulting.
Phases and Themes
The Canton Fair is divided into three phases, each highlighting distinct themes
- Phase 1: (October 15-19, 2024): Focuses on “Advanced Manufacturing,” showcasing cutting-edge technologies in new energy, intelligent vehicles, industrial automation, and electronics (e.g. bionic hands, foldable TVs).
- Phase 2: (October 23-27, 2024): Centers on “Quality Home Living,” featuring innovative and eco-friendly products in construction materials, furniture, and decorative items.
- Phase 3: (October 31-November 4, 2024): Highlights “Better Life,” covering health and leisure products, maternity and baby supplies, and fashion apparel aligned with consumer trends.

- Exhibitors: Over 45,000 companies participate online and offline, including 8,000+ specialized, sophisticated, and innovative enterprises.
- Innovative Products: Showcases smart home devices, green technologies, and customized solutions.
- Online Platform: Hosts a six-month virtual exhibition (September 16, 2024-March 15, 2025), displaying 3 million products with real-time supplier-buyer matching.
